MINUTES OF GMCA ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

FEBRUARY 20, 2003

President Rozema called the Meeting to order at 11:00 A.M.

Board members present: Rozema, Glickfield, Guttman, Quinlan, Gill, Ieraci, Casier, Alfano, Berkowitz, Freismuth, Harwood, Katkin, M. Leeds, Nicholson-Brown, Goldstein, Mayer, Pescosolido, Rossi, Sanders, Schultz, Collins and Comis. The minutes of the January 16, 2003 Board Meeting were approved. (Guests: Marty Sullivan and John Miller of SunTrust Bank and Jan Edelman of Bridge Square)

Pier Property - President Rozema introduced Robert Gouf, a developer with Pier Property. He spoke of plans for the “Pier” Property on the intracoastal (where Frankie's Restaurant was located). It is a deal backed by Marriott and real “up-scale”. It would consist of hotel rooms and 8 condos. They would have valet parking in 126 parking spaces and would provide many special amenities in a grandiose manner. It is in the beginning stages and has a long way to go before approval.

Marrinson Senior Care - Janet Friedman and Michele Tusi spoke of the special senior care given at these well known nursing homes (senior care facilities).

Jan Edelman - spoke of fund raiser at Shooter's tonight.

Marty Sullivan - spoke of some new types of accounts offered at SunTrust Bank.

The $100,000 Question - tabled until next month.

L'Ambiance - Fire inspection expected next month.

Beach Renourishment - Re-studying the issue. Governor Bush meets with Cabinet for further study in April. This project was provided with 30 million dollars in 1998, which still sits in a government account.

Other Business - Newsletter boxes have been placed on the Galt Ocean Mile without permits. These and unwanted advertising signs that suddenly appeared along the street were discussed. Bob will call agents and buildings to remove eyesores according to city law. The subject of the new fire code was discussed and it was stated that 50 states had approved it for new buildings. Meanwhile many condos have paid Becker-Poliakoff $1000 each for lobbying the legislators. There are still no final answers.

Treasurer's Report - The Treasurer, Leah Glickfield, reported $14,736.69 in the Treasury.

THE NEXT REGULAR BOARD MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, MARCH 20th, 2003 AT NICK'S ITALIAN KITCHEN AT 11:00 A.M.

Meeting adjourned at 12:15 P.M.
