The Galt Mile Community Association expressed its appreciation to State Rep Chip LaMarca for sponsoring and guiding through the state legislature the final portion of the funding for the Galt Ocean Drive Safety Improvements. Chip presented to us a check in the amount of $1.25 million.  This is the third and final installment Chip was responsible for obtaining from the state to fund the project.  The other 50% will be funded by the city.  Pictured is Chip presenting the check to Galt Mile President Fred Nesbitt. 

Chip cannot run for reelection due to term limits.  The Galt Mile Community Association presented to him a special recognition award for his service and support of the Galt Mile. Chip has been an active friend, supporter and advocate on behalf of the the Galt Mile.  He served as our county commissioner from 2010-2018 and was instrumental in helping us save the Galt Ocean Mile Reading Center, when budget cuts threatened our library.  He served in the state house from 2018-2026 and championed our Galt Ocean Drive Safety Improvements project and other issues relating to the Galt Mile.  The award plaque reads:
