Our library may be small, but it is BIG on programs offered to our residents. I am sure there is at least one program that interests you – so plan today to attend.

Summer Learning Program: Color Our World: June 1 – August 9, Registration open (online) coloring books and canvas for painting

Summer reading promotes literacy: Early Literacy Program; Children’s Program; Teen Program; and Adult Program.

Special Events: Get the Scoop on Medicare – Tuesday, June 03: 2:30pm – 3:30pm; Ask Us Anything: Technology and Computers – Tuesday, June 10: 2:00pm – 3:00pm; Galt Ocean Mile Photography Club – Thursday, June 26: 3:00pm – 4:00pm.

So many other events are listed on the calendar. There is truly something for everyone.

CPR/AED Training – May 13

The CPR/AED training session, the last one until October, will be conducted by Chief Daniel Oatmeyer, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, on Tuesday, May 13 at the Atlantic Ocean Club condo building, located at 4020 Galt Ocean Drive.

This session, which begins at 10 am and lasts one hour, is open to all Galt Mile residents. There is no charge for this training class. However, you must register for the class ahead of time – by contacting Cornelia Cave at Corneliasouthpoint@aol.com or if you have questions about the class. The class is also open to employees of the condo buildings, such as office staff, maintenance, security and housekeeping.

Remember – giving an hour of your time to be trained in CPR/AED could save someone’s life.

The Galt Mile residents are special, and they proved that again this year with their support of the food drive and Toys for Tots. After all, We Are the Galt.

CPR Training

The Galt Mile Community Association and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue are offering CPR/AED training to residents free of charge. The training session lasts one hour (from 10 am – 11 am) and is hosted by various association members each month. Classes are limited and pre-registration is a must.

The next class is February 11 at 10 am at Galt Towers located at 4250 Galt Ocean Drive. To register for this class, contact Cornelia Cave at Corneliasouthpoint@aol.com to reserve your place.

Don’t worry if you can’t make this training session – we have additional classes scheduled for March 11^,2025, April 8, 2025, May 13, 2025. To date we have trained over 500 Galt Mile residents in CPR and AED responses to cardiac emergencies. Investing one hour learning CPR/AED can save a life. Remember, when someone goes into cardiac arrest, their chances of surviving are reduced by 10% for every minute they don’t receive CPR/AED. The Fire Rescue response time is 6-7 minutes.
