If you are moving to a new home and have held a Homestead Exemption anywhere within Florida during the past three tax years, you may be eligible to transfer your Save Our Homes (SOH) benefit to your new home to help lower the property’s assessed value and subsequent taxes.  The Portability Estimator available online helps you approximate what your new property taxes will be using any portability you may be transferring from another property.

Reminder:  June through the end of November is hurricane season. Now is the time to make sure you have all preparations ready. From emergency numbers to supplies, please update all hurricane information and materials. The Broward County Commission recently approved $20 million dollars to begin the creation of a cost-share grant program addressing existing flood conditions. These projects will deliver immediate flood reduction benefits, positioning the Broward community to capitalize on the forthcoming resilience improvements to the primary canals system.

Broward County Small Business Micro-Grant Pilot Program application portal launched on April 27. The program provides working capital of up to $5,000 for eligible expense reimbursements to the smallest of small businesses based in Broward County.
