MINUTES OF GMCA ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

NOVEMBER 15, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m. by President Pio Ieraci.

Board Members present: Ieraci, Berkowitz, Gill, McBride, Chisholm, Gonzalez, Konstance, M. Leeds, Quintero and Miller.

Approval of Minutes - The minutes of October 25, 2007 were approved.

Old & New Business

Galt Mile Memorial Walk - Pio explained the Citys rendering for the Memorial Walk. Representatives from LHermitage expressed concerns that the benches depicted in the rendering might attract homeless persons looking for a place to sleep and unsavory types that might present a danger to local pedestrians. By way of example, they explained that a lady from LHermitage II was attacked while en route to Walgreens.

Pio assured concerned residents that no final decisions have been made about pursuing the project or the projects final configuration. He stated that the decision to approve the project would be made by a vote of the Advisory Board. Funds will be supplemented through the NCIP matching grant program and those resources would not be available until June or July of 2008. Notwithstanding, the request for NCIP matching grant funds needs to be made immediately. If the project is not approved by the Advisory Board, the unclaimed maatching funds would be forfeit.

Pio made a motion that he write the letter to move forward with the grant application. Eric Berkowitz seconded the motion; the motion passed with three votes against the motion.

Il Lugano Marilyn Leeds - The permanent Certificate of Occupancy will be received in January. There will be four floors of condos; the balance hotel rooms. A 2-bedroom suite will cost $550. per night.

Deposits made for condo/hotel rooms have been refunded. The bump-outs along 34th Street will be removed by the City.

Beach Renourishment - The permit to complete Phase II must be approved by the Florida cabinet.

Galt Mile Roving Security Patrol - Call Capt. Penny if you want him to come to your building for introductions.

Galt Merchants Association Marilyn Leeds - During a discussion about metered parking; she stated that the Community Center offers free parking passes to those attending classes. She also shared information about some of the Galt Merchants planned activities.

Galt Mile Web Site Newsletter Eric Berkowitz - Time shortage precluded report.

Other Business - A suggestion was made that each building should receive the Advisory Board meeting minutes. It was explained that the minutes were distributed to each Associations representatives at the subsequent meeting. Every association is responsible for assigning members to attend these meetings. However, Pio would look into the propriety of sending unapproved minutes for the sake of expedience. The minutes are also posted on the Galt Mile web site. Eric clarified that there is a disclaimer on the GMCA web site explaining that the posted minutes are unofficial until their approval at the next meeting.

Treasurers Report - Treasurer Leah Glickfield was absent.

Next Advisory Board Meeting - The next regular Advisory Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Nicks Italian Restaurant.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:05 p.m.
