Fort Lauderdale Commissioner John Herbst, in his May newsletter, calls our attention to reports of criminal activity targeting our neighborhoods.
First, there have been incidents where individuals falsely claim that their iPhone is pinging inside your home, as a ruse to gain access. If you encounter such a situation, call 911 immediately.
Second, there have been instances of stolen vehicles due to key fobs being left inside or in close proximity to the vehicle. Please ensure your vehicles are always locked, and keep your key fobs securely stored inside your home.
Commissioner Herbst says “Let’s work together to keep our community safe and secure. By staying vigilant and proactive, we can deter criminal activity and ensure a peaceful environment for everyone.” Make sure you click on the video to hear his comments on homelessness.
