Our Broward County Commissioner, Lamar Fisher, reminds us Hurricane season is almost here, and it has been predicted that it will be a very active season. While this prediction does not necessarily mean South Florida will be impacted, it is still best to make sure you are prepared for any kind of weather event that may come our way. Here are a couple things to look out for this hurricane season.
- Hurricane Tax Holiday– From June 1 – 14 and August 24 to September 6, the state of Florida will be having a hurricane season tax holiday. The tax holiday eliminates sales tax from certain disaster preparedness related items, such as flashlights, reusable ice, radios, tarps, coolers, batteries, and more.
- Be sure to follow @ReadyBroward on “X,” the County’s Official Emergency Management account for the latest County-related information during an emergency activation.
