Construction crews are getting ready to start a series of upgrades to two parking lots along Galt Ocean Drive, the lots located at NE 36th Street and NE 35th Street. Construction is scheduled to start the week of August 18, 2025, and is expected to wrap up by the end of December. Work will take place on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The project includes milling and resurfacing the lots, making the ramps more accessible to those with disabilities, improving the lighting, placing in charge stations for electric cars,  and the drainage system in the south lot will be improved,.

City officials have made it clear that traffic on Galt Ocean Drive will not be affected by the upgrades. During the construction time, drivers are advised to stay vigilant and follow any signs that are up to keep both workers and drivers safe.
