MINUTES OF GMCA ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

OCTOBER 21, 2004


President Rozema called the Meeting to order at 11:00 A.M.

Board members present: Rozema, Gill, Ieraci, Glickfield, Guttman, Freismuth, Rossi, Hamaker, Katkin, Shultz, Berkowitz, McBride, Mayor, Nicholson-Brown, McDonald, Drews, Kreal, Montross, Ellis, Songer, Alfano and Comis.

Approval of Minutes - None Presented.

President Rozema introduced the Honorable Jim Naugle, Mayor of Fort Lauderdale. He spoke of the sad shape of the Budget, but stated that the new Fort Lauderdale City Manager has already taken many new measures to assure us of bringing our funding up to par. He felt Mr. Gretsas has done an excellent job in putting our �house back in order�. Mayor Naugle spoke of new taxes and funding which the City Manager has had to put in motion. Mayor Naugle noted how the center of town has really grown and possible future plans for same. There weas a Q & A period following the Mayor�s address.

President Rozema introduced Deputy Chief Keith Allen, Dave Hebert, Lieutenant Webster and Allison of the Fire-Rescue Department. They made a most important presentation as to how important it is to vote for the amendment bond when election time rolls around as some fire stations, etc. are badly in need of replacement and new installations would be most appreciated and better for everyone.

Beautification of N.E. 34th Street - presented by Ralph Hamaker. He stated that plans were really shaping up and when the plans all come to fruition it will be most attractive. (Tentative drawings were distributed.) Salary survey has been delivered to all participating condos.

Galt Mile Web Site - There were more than 106,159 hits last month. There were many documents on our web site after the hurricanes - all trying to help neighbor-to-neighbor.

Treasurer�s Report - The Treasurer, Leah Glickfield, reported $16,432.62 in the Treasury.

THE NEXT REGULAR BOARD MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2004 AT NICK�S ITALIAN KITCHEN AT 11:00 A.M.
