MINUTES OF GMCA ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

APRIL 17, 2003

President Rozema called the Meeting to order at 11:00 A.M.

Board members present: Rozema, Glickfield, Guttman, Quinlan, Gill, Ieraci, Casier, Berkowitz, Freismuth, M. Leeds, Nicholson-Brown, Mayer, Rossi, Songer, Schultz, Lodwick, Creal, Moyyad, McBride and SantiEsteban. (Guests: Marty Sullivan and Bob Wolfe). The minutes of the February 20, 2003 and the March 20, 2003 Board Meetings were approved.

President Rozema presented our newly elected District 1 City Commissioner Christine Teel. She announced that she would conduct town meetings to acquire input for the regular City Commission meetings (held on the first and third Tuesdays each month). These meetings for our input will be held on Monday evenings, prior to the regular Commission meetings on Tuesdays at the Beach Community Center. She plans to include people from different areas of interest to go with her to review the designated areas for future development.

Commissioner Teel noted that the Le Laguno property was scheduled for the agenda of the Planning and Zoning Commission on May 21st at 6:30 P.M. Nothing is certain yet relative to that piece of land - a permit for deed restriction must be obtained. The park idea is not totally closed at this point.

There was a question and answer period at which time the Commissioner replied affirmatively to our problems. President Rozema stated that he would accompany Commissioner Teel on a walking tour of our area and point out several problems. One very important issue is the fact that our sidewalks have been dug up, not only for construction at L'Ambiance (developer had told us they would repair it so as to match the pink sidewalk originally laid by the city) but also in front of other condos where cable company has torn it up and patched it with black-top which completely destroys the aesthetics along the Mile. Also discussed were the newspaper boxes that are supposed to be black and only at the north end of Galt Ocean Drive and "garage sale" signs along the public right-of-way. Commissioner Teel will speak to Parks Department and Building Codes Department after walking tour.

Sun Trust - Marty Sullivan made a brief presentation about bank specials for the condos.

The $100,000 Question - They're still looking for it!!!

Beach Renourishment - Pio noted that the Cabinet will be meeting on May 13th to resolve this question. He had already met with Cabinet Aides relative to this question.

Miles Corner - Construction (restoration) will begin shortly after the Air and Sea Show.

Galt Mile Web Site - Eric noted that we had about 85,000 hits - with 8,000 (new visitors) the past few weeks. The GMCA Financial Portal is now on there. There is also a Fire Safety Update there now. Everyone applauded Eric for his super job in establishing this most useful project for everyone.

Actual number of hits for March was 85,561. [Editor]

Treasurer's Report - The Treasurer, Leah Glickfield, reported $14,244.99 in the Treasury.

THE NEXT REGULAR BOARD MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, MAY 15th, 2003 AT NICK'S ITALIAN KITCHEN AT 11:00 A.M.

Meeting adjourned at 12:45 P.M.

Leah Glickfield, Secretary, Pro Tem
