President Rozema called the Meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.
Board members present: Rozema, Glickfield, Gill, Ieraci, Rossi, Ayoub, Nicholson-Brown, McBride, Goldstein, Harwood, Hurley, M. Leeds, Mayer, Alfans, Berkowitz, Schwartz, Pollaccia, Haladey, Pohan, Hamaker, Creal, Santiesteban, Gresser and Burtoff. The minutes of the June 27, 2002 Board Meeting were approved with one correction - Guttman and Schwartz's names were inadvertently omitted.
President Rozema introduced the Honorable Gloria Katz, our City Commissioner.
Commissioner Katz
- spoke of cables on the Mile being updated. She noted that Hal Barrs is working on a master plan for the Galt Merchants Association and work on that will start in the fall. Commissioner Katz also informed us of the three areas in our neighborhood which will be converted into City/County Public Parks (in keeping with Federal mandates of �more greenery� etc.). Two of the parks will be on the north and the south of Days Inn on A1A. The third one will be located on one-half of the �Frankie's� property on the intracoastal canal.
She noted that the Temple nearby is planning on making a playground between the Temple and Crown Liquor store.
Commissioner Katz stated that police were still receiving complaints relative to the homeless in our area, but there is little we can do. She noted that the United Way tries to assist in every way possible to help the elderly. They have issued a booklet relative to finding different forms of assistance. Holy Cross Hospital - There was a representative from Holy Cross Hospital who explained that the new renovations at Holy Cross are outstanding. She invited everyone to come and check out their �Wellness Center� which has the latest equipment and they would be proud to show you all the benefits of this special section.
Bridge Square Representative - Jan Edelman, President of Bridge Square Association, announced that they would be happy to be a part of our �working community�. She also works for Shooter�s Restaurant and brought some gift coupons for special promotions there.
Cleveland Clinic Update - There are plans relative to that property wherein there will be a regular emergency room set up there where patients could be stabilized and later sent to area hospitals. It is expected to be a spa-type of project. The plan is in the �talking stage� at this point. The ER is expected to be run by either Imperial Point Hospital or Holy Cross Hospital.

Galt Mile Web Site - Eric Berkowitz explained how it is all set up. He received accolades from President Rozema and everyone present as to the outstanding job which he had done.
Treasurer's Report - The Treasurer, Leah Glickfield, reported $15,596.76 in the Treasury.
